Best known for the unbuilt – unbuildable, for many people – elevated "Ville Spatiale" cities from last century, Yona Friedman's ideas are still finding resonance today. To note, he designed one of the 25sqm Summer Houses for the Serpentine Galleries last year and participated in the Venice Architecture Biennale, also last year. What comes across strongly in the 20-minute interview recorded at the Danish Association of Architects in July is the humanitarian bent of his ideas, particularly in regard to the importance of immigrants and the role of optimism.
